Counselor Visit Weekend at NMU

Counselor Visit Weekend at Northern Michigan University is planned especially for high school counselors (who work with juniors and/or seniors) and community college counselors. This event will take place February 5-8, 2009, on NMU's campus on the shoreline of Lake Superior in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. A visit to our campus during this time of year is guaranteed to show you why they call Michigan a winter wonderland.

The weekend will include:

round trip transportation via coach - one for Lower Michigan; one for Minnesota; and one for Illinois and Wisconsin
lodging for three nights at the Landmark Inn
all scheduled meals while on campus
several social activities including:
- NMU hockey game vs. Bowling Green State University
tours of campus and the Marquette area
meetings with faculty and staff members from a variety of areas
optional graduate credit hours available
most importantly, you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with current NMU students

NMU admissions counselors will be onboard each bus to act as escorts and answer any questions you may have en route. Participation in the visitation weekend (all of the above activities, lodging, and on-campus meals) is at no charge to you. NOTE: Sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate spouses or other family members for this trip.

If you are interested in taking part in the Counselor Visit Weekend, please complete the registration form. This invitation has been extended to a number of high school and community college counselors, so reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Preference will be given to counselors who have not previously taken part in a visit weekend. All registrations must be made by January 16, 2009. Reservation confirmations will be sent via e-mail along with additional information regarding bus pick-up times and specific locations.
