Southwest Wisconsin

Hometown:  Harbor Springs, Mich.

Professional/personal biography: I earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in 1997 and a master of arts degree in English from NMU in 1999.  I taught EN 111 for two years as a graduate teaching assistant.  After that, I spent about five years working in the field of residence life, mostly in the University of Wisconsin system. I joined the NMU staff in 2005.

Most memorable college experience: Being a resident assistant in the residence halls and making great friendships and learning a lot about myself through this job.

Favorite Marquette activity:  Cross country skiing at Blueberry Ridge. What a great course!

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college:  Take advantage of study abroad opportunities!  This is the one thing I regret not doing in college.  It will never be as affordable and practical for you to have such a rich cultural experience again, so take advantage of it while you can!
