Gina LombardiniGina Lombardini -Assistant Director of Admissions and On-Campus Program Coordinator

Hometown: Loretto, Mich.

Professional/personal biography: I earned a bachelor of arts degree in social work and a master of arts degree in training and development from NMU.  After getting  a bachelor's degree, this small town girl decided to try life in the big city! I enjoyed living in the Chicago area for a while, but when an opportunity came up to get a job at NMU I knew I just had to return. I’ve been in the Admissions Office for a number of years. In my spare time I enjoy a variety of activities: shopping, going to auctions, reading, working on my home and relaxing with friends.

Most memorable college experience: There are so many great memories (Dakota House’s year-end pig roasts at Little Presque Isle, happy hours at the Alibi, playing euchre and backgammon at all hours of the day and night, rappeling off ROTC rock as a freshman, carving my name in the tables at the Pub...) But one of the most memorable was my roommate and I and nine friends traveling to Grand Forks, North Dakota to watch the football Wildcats play. You sure learn a lot about your friends after spending an entire weekend with them in a rented Winnebago!

Favorite Marquette activity: Once again there is so much to chose from. One of my favorite activities is just hanging out with friends in the summer, either at the beach or in their backyards, relaxing, grilling out and having fun.

Best advice you received regarding college or would give someone entering college: Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way, you never know what you may learn about yourself. Be serious about your academics but remember to have fun. Most alum's favorite memories aren't about a class they took but about the good times they had with friends.
