	G.I Jobs magazine rates NMU in the top 15% of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide in military friendliness. NMU has also recently partnered with DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support) and lists all of our on-line course offerings in the (DANTES) Independent Study Guide. The 2011/2012 school year also sees NMU join the Yellow Ribbon Program which helps to supplement the Post 9/11 GI Bill

The couch show was created in the Fall of 2010 to raise student awareness of the many ways in which private giving creates financial and academic opportunities at NMU. More than 270 students had their photos taken in various locations around campus, on an eighties-era couch.
