All-Campus Tutoring Center

students studyingAll Campus Tutoring (ACT) provides NMU students free academic support:

  • Walk-in tutoring: tutoring is available at set hours every week for many science, math and business-core courses.
  • Tutor-facilitated study groups: a tutor who, whenever possible, has completed the course with the same instructor, helps students with course material, study skills and strategies and motivation for academic success.
  • Peer-assisted learning strategies (PALS): a pilot program offering intensive tutoring services for BI 201/202, CH 107/108, CH 321/322 and HN 210.

ACT tutors and staff also help students develop study and organizational skills and provide appropriate referrals to other campus services.
