Re-entry Checklist

academic mallWhether you have been out of NMU one semester or longer, there are several steps you must take to re-enroll. The following re-entry student checklist can help with the process of re-entering NMU.

Students who have attended NMU and have:

You have taken one or more semesters off and would now like to return, transferring credits or not.

What When How and Where
Fill out a re-entry update form (no fee required) Up until the first day of class In the Admissions Office, 2212 C.B. Hedgcock, or online: re-entry update form
Acceptance letter After re-entry form has been received Through the mail
NMU User ID and password After receiving your acceptance letter

NMU IN - replaces the use of Social Security Numbers Used instead of SS number on campus To access your NMU User ID
Your NMU IN will be found on this page.
Picture ID Before classes Inform Wildcat Express, in the University Center, that you are a re-entry student. They will call Admissions to verify your admittance. You then will be issued a new picture ID at no expense.
Registering for classes After being accepted

On-line, through your academic department or the Student Services Center.

Who is my adviser Your adviser is assigned at the start of the semester (approximately one month after classes begin) If you need assistance before the start of the semester, you should contact your major department and inform them you are re-entering NMU and need assistance. If you are undeclared you may contact the Academic and Career Advisement Center, 3302 C.B. Hedgcock Building, 906-227-2971
Adviser hold If you have completed fewer than 18 NMU credits, or if you are on academic probation You will need to meet with your adviser to have the hold lifted prior to registering for classes
Laptop - notebook computer Go to: ACS web site click on TLC Program and under "Overview" find your scenario

Summer classes: summer rental laptops are distributed through the library and returned at the end of summer and a new one issued.

Fall classes: Dome distribution. Letters are sent in August with date and time of pick up.

Winter classes: Micro-repair

Tuition and fees bill E-mail notification is sent out prior to the start of each semester
